Why does my hair look like it has a green tint?

Swimmers are not the only ones that end up with a green tint in their hair from chemical build up. Other culprits are older character buildings with brass pipes, and brand new buildings where the pipe residue has not yet run clean (this usually takes about 6 months).

Normally this colour change is only noticed on blonde hair, however, if you are exposed to any of these elements but your hair is darker, you could still have a build up that is affecting the health of your hair.

Ideally, the answer to these problems is to avoid exposure. Water purifiers for your shower head are very effective and can be purchased at most major department stores. Also, use a clarifying shampoo once a week such as Joico Resolve or Bumble and bumble Sunday Shampoo, will regularly deep cleanse so that your hair remains free from build-up.
